| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. I want us to imagine something right now. Let's imagine for our |
| 0:16.6 | birthday this year our friends and our family pool or money and they get us |
| 0:21.8 | tickets for our favorite music group. And not only that, we have |
| 0:26.7 | great seats so we can see here and experience every aspect of our favorite group. Now during the concert |
| 0:36.2 | there may be times where we have to go to the bathroom or we may move ourselves around |
| 0:40.9 | a little bit on the seats because we're uncomfortable, or we may get |
| 0:44.6 | hungry halfway through the performance, or perhaps we even get a headache halfway through the performance. |
| 0:51.3 | But mostly I think we could all agree that during the performance we would be having a wonderful time |
| 0:58.0 | and we'd be in no way wishing for it to get done and hurry up to play that last note or even that last |
| 1:06.1 | song because this is our favorite group and we love all their pieces. |
| 1:12.3 | And like I said, because we're so engaged with the music, all the small annoyances |
| 1:18.5 | wouldn't really bother us that much, and we definitely wouldn't want to hurry to the end song and have it be done with. |
| 1:26.3 | We'd enjoy the entire concert. |
| 1:29.6 | Or let's say when we get to the concert, we just broke up with our loved one, or we're going through |
| 1:36.2 | a really difficult financial time, or last week we were diagnosed with cancer and we don't |
| 1:42.0 | know the outcome of our treatment. |
| 1:44.4 | We would still during this time probably really focus in on the music and allow ourselves |
| 1:51.1 | to let go and be free during the time of the concert. |
| 1:56.5 | The wonderful gift that we have as humans is that we can suspend all that's going around us and really focus in on something when we love |
| 2:07.8 | what we're doing. So when we're at our favorite concert with our favorite musicians playing our |
| 2:15.0 | favorite songs no matter what's going on in our lives we can suspend our |
| 2:21.5 | concern our fears, our worries, and really focus on the music. |
