Well, welcome back to part two in our interview with Rebecca Roberts and the Smithsonian Associates fall events from the Not Old Better Show.

We have been joined by Rebecca Roberts who is one of several program coordinators here at the Smithsonian Associates offices in downtown Washington, D.C.

I'm thrilled to be talking with Rebecca, and we're going to drill down into a couple of the

programs.

Rebecca, I want to talk about two specific programs that I noticed and I mentioned

the sleepover during the intro to the show today.

And to me, that's certainly reminiscent of the great film series, at the Museum starring Ben Stiller and

Robin Williams but it's certainly a unique program and the other program that I'd

like you to talk about is this new program to the Smithsonian Associates titled America's Guilded Age, which from

the catalog and everything I've read online is really this wonderful expansive, complete

look at America during this time of great change in

transformation socially culturally even the nation's spirit of

entrepreneurship is said to be sparked then and in this new course

again really this kind of a series of programs tell us what will learn and what will

experience as we're kind of guided through this really important moment in history.

The museum's sleepovers were inspired by Night at the Museum, that spectacular movie where the

artifacts and exhibits come to life after hours.

I cannot tell you whether or not that actually happens at a sleepover.

You'll have to attend for yourself.

That's good.

But they are geared towards 8 to 12 year olds. So those kind of middle grade kids. I've got kids that age myself. It is can be hard to find things to do with them. There's lots of stuff here at the Smithsonian geared towards little little kids.

And then in high school, there's more opportunities, but in between, sometimes it can be hard to find
