our perception of reality even when we realize that there are other humans in the world and that all of their

viewpoints or vantage points in which they experience life are as real seeming

as ours.

We still can't get out of the illusion that we feel like ours is somehow

the most important and relative and somehow the fullest view of what's quote-in-quote happening.

What an amazing magic trick that the mind plays on itself.

It's a good tool. It's a good tool. It keeps us focused. It keeps us surviving ultimately. As long as we keep thinking that we're sort of important, then that way we'll keep trying to be successful and to eat food

and to procreate and all that type of things that humans tend to do.

So that's a fun illusion I like to play with. Also I wrote a little bit about something

about that in my new book that will be out. And then it's like one of the interesting reasons

where we feel like that is because we are mammals that move through three-dimensional space.

So we have eyes in the front of our heads and like everywhere that we take our bodies with our feet of course like everything is

responding to us because we're entering environments and looking at you know other things as we enter and so those things look at us and etc etc

and so because of that we in, if there's a fly buzzing around that comes over by you,

thinking that fly is coming to me, etc.

So because we're looking out of the front of our faces and our perception is moving forward and outwards,

we naturally feel like the rest of the world is aimed specifically us because we are perceiving a spotlight of the rest of the world.

And so it gives us the illusion that everything is kind of focused on us, that we are the center of the story.

Whenever we're in truth, we're all background characters, which is a very liberating thing to understand.

That's one of the, I think the better parts about getting older and maybe it's not maybe it's less about me getting older and more about me just like getting over myself a little bit because or a lot that.

Because now I really don't think I'm special.

I think I'm less special.
