Happy Friday, you guys. Today we're going to be talking about a common misconception regarding plant

0:06.4

timing. Plant timing is a huge factor in planning your garden and also in the success of your garden

0:12.9

because you want to get the plant timing right for your crops. Most of us as beginners, we go in search

0:20.0

of that perfect, tell me when to plant.

0:22.9

And a lot of times we'll find grids online that will say, if you're in zone 7, using my own

0:29.4

zone, for example, then this is when you want to plant this plant or that plant.

0:34.8

And it makes it seem so simple and easy. But the problem is that going by those

0:41.7

kind of grids may work, but they may not. And the reason is that garden zones were never created

0:48.5

to tell a gardener when to plant. Today then, I want to talk to you about exactly what garden zones are because we all refer to it. When people want to know where you're going to plant. Today then I want to talk to you about exactly what garden zones are because we all

0:55.8

refer to it. When people want to know where you're gardening, they want to get a reference. And so

1:05.7

going to talk about what those actually mean and then what it means for when you plant and what it doesn't mean for when

1:13.4

you plant.

1:25.9

Now speaking of plant timing, the reason I'm really honing in on this today, and we talked about it on Tuesday's episode as well, is it is one of the biggest questions that gardeners, especially beginning gardeners make, wanted to know when to plant, but it's also one of the biggest questions all of us have to ask ourselves when we're planning our garden so that we can get our garden plants in the ground at the right time.

1:50.0

And that's something that I'm discussing in detail in next week's productive garden masterclass.

1:56.7

Plant timing is key to having a successful and a productive garden. And we're going to be talking about

2:02.1

how to get that plant timing right. Now we're also going to be talking about some other factors

2:07.5

that will greatly increase the success in your garden or give you the opportunity to without having

2:12.9

to work as hard as maybe you might have to otherwise and without having to expand your garden space.

2:19.6

One of those methods is succession planting, which so many gardeners want to do, but they don't know

2:24.0

how to get started. In that class, I'm going to give you some examples of succession planting

2:29.4

methods you can use from the very basic beginning ideas to also some more advanced methods.
