0:24.0	Over the last couple of years now, most recently, Congressman Crenshaw set up an event for
0:30.2	me in Washington where I had the privilege of speaking to a large group of Republicans
0:35.2	concentrating on policy making about the possibility of generating a positive message
0:40.6	going forward as a bulwark, let's say, against the possibility of a kind of reactionary populism,
0:49.4	which is not optimal, unfortunate for everyone concerned.
0:54.1	Dan and I talked after that about doing another podcast, concentrating on political issues,
0:58.5	particularly focusing on the danger posed by the radicals on the left and the radicals
1:04.8	on the right.
1:05.8	He's had a lot of experience with the unpleasant radicals on the right.
1:09.4	I thought that would be really interesting, but over the last few days, I've also read
1:13.8	his book, New Book, Fortitude, something Dan knows something about, by the way, Fortitude,
1:23.0	American resilience in the age of outrage.
1:26.3	And I really liked the book.
1:27.8	I thought it was a lovely balance of story, personal story, concept, encouragement, clear
1:38.9	delineation of a political and sometimes a theological philosophy, psychological philosophy.
1:45.1	So I took a lot of notes and I thought what I would do after I read Dan's bio is walk
1:51.3	through his book with him.
1:53.7	There's a lot of places where are thinking dovetails, I suppose, which is why it's easy
1:58.7	for us to get along.
2:01.4	And I think we could have a very productive discussion as a consequence.
