Hello and welcome to mini episode 286 of Real Life Gold Stories, and I have three spooky

0:29.4

stories for you today and the last story comes from March the 27th, 2023, and story number

0:34.5

one comes from Raquel. I've had a handful of unexplainable experiences as a teenager,

0:41.4

mostly from my time living with my parents, and often find myself thinking of them from

0:46.6

time to time. Sometimes I just can't believe that I was so lucky to have them in the first

0:51.5

place. Today I decided to share a story with you that I still have a hard time processing

0:57.4

and I get spooked every time I think about it. My parents both worked the graveyard shift

1:02.9

at their jobs, so I was always home alone with my younger brother at night. Since my brother

1:30.0

in disgust, thinking that maybe he broke wind, but once I opened my eyes, I realised he

1:35.9

hadn't responded, and it couldn't have been him as the smell was still present. Finally

1:41.2

the smell subsided and all I could do was sit there in the dark thinking, what was that

1:45.5

smell? I have never in my life smelled something so gross, I imagined it must be what the smell

1:51.6

of death would be. Fast forward to the next night, it was the same scenario. I was being

1:57.2

woken up in the dead of night to the putrid smell. This time around I remembered feeling

2:01.8

so annoyed by this that I didn't bother to open my eyes or get up to investigate, but

2:06.2

instead I yelled out, fuck off I don't have time for this, and turned the other way and

2:11.7

went to sleep. By the third night it was different. I was woken up to a beautiful aroma

2:17.4

that I had never smelled before. Half asleep I remembered sniffing the air as deeply as
