John Delin and I'm honored to be here with D. Michael Quinn and many distinguished guests.

It's August 12th, 2011 and we are here at a pre-private dinner on a day where we're

honoring the many great works and contributions of D. Michael Quinn in Mormon history and

in Mormonism in general. And we just have a lovely meal and we're ready to jump in with

questions. And so we've asked our guests to come up with some questions. We have Ann Pepper

running the mic and so we would like to open up the floor to our first questioner for Michael Quinn.

We are going to raise your hand when you're ready and I'll fill the silence. We've asked our

audience to focus their questions right now on more historical issues and other types of issues

around dates and facts and information and insight and opinion. We'll be focusing the actual

conference and the interview, the Mormon Stories interview, more on Michael's own personal

story and his own personal journey because that's what Mormon Stories is all about. And I should

Yeah, this question, I guess, through all the research that you've done, could you think of maybe

one single thing that you discovered, one surprise, for good or for bad, that was just, I don't know,

maybe the most interesting and expected thing that you encountered in all your research.
