Hello everyone, and welcome back to The Incomparable for a sort of flashcast episode in response to the very sad death of David Bowie earlier this week.

I'm your host, Anthony Johnston, and with me today making time at very short notice is Erica Ensign.

Hello, I'm happy and sad to be here.

I think we all are, yes.

The internet's Dr. Dr. Drang.

Hello.

And David Law. Hello there. Yeah, I think we're all kind of both happy and sad to be here. You know, we all love talking about Bowie. We all loved him. That's why we want to do a podcast about him. But at the same time, of course, we're very sad that he's gone. And he had such an incredible life and left such an incredible legacy.

His body of work is enormous.

His legacy and reputation are enormous.

And nobody could say that he didn't live life to the absolute fullest.

You know, he lived five, six, seven lifetimes in the space of one in his, you know, all too short

time in the world.

And obviously we'll talk about that throughout the course of the show, but at the same time,

there is no way we can cover the whole thing. I did at one point,

I considered maybe chronologically going through his career, and then I looked at it.

We would be here.

We would take a while.

Right. You thought Star Wars was bad. We would be here until next year.

So instead, and I think this is appropriate for this sort of show, instead I want to focus

on what Bowie meant to us, to each of us, and the legacy he will leave behind in our own lives.
