Genesis chapter 32 verses 9 through 12

this chapter is a great picture of Jacob praying, even wrestling with God.

In verse 9 says, Jacob said,

Oh God of my father, Abraham, and God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Lord who said to me,

return to your country and to your kindred that I may do you good.

I am not worthy of the least of all the deeds of steadfast love and all the faithfulness

that you have shown to your servant.

For with only my staff I crossed this Jordan and now I've become two camps.

Please deliver me from the hand of my brother from the hand of Esau

for I fear him that he may come and attack me the mothers with the children but you

said I will surely do you good and make your offspring is the sand of the sea

which cannot be numbered for multitude.

Oh, this is such a great prayer.

Just think about what Jacob is doing as he prays,

what scripture is teaching us about prayer here.

Jacob is appealing to God's promises.

I mean he is trusting in God's promises.

He's saying, God, you told me this would be good for me to come back.

He's afraid. He's about to meet

Esau, he saw who wanted to kill him before he left home years before. So he's
