effectively the equivalent of Ian Dale and my love child, Grant Tucker. I've also got to say

as well, Geoffrey Archer's sloppy seconds I've got, haven't I? You're absolutely right, right. Just seen you on GMB and I'm here pressing the flesh with Jackie herself. I've come straight from Good Morning Britain, where I was with Geoffrey, because of course, Ian's still on holiday. And he is just, I mean, he's over 80. He's full of... So he said Ian then was over it? No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. Jeffrey, of course, is over at him. He will be listening, you know. He'll be checking up on us. Yeah, yeah. So, Grant, obviously you're an extremely well-known celebrity, but for any of our four-the-manipod listeners

who don't know who you are, tell us a little bit about yourself and then tell us how you first met

Ian.

Well, first thing says, when they announced my name, they also go, who the hell is that?

But no, I started as Ian's PA when I was 18.

I was a big, like, fan of his blog, so he used to read that every day. And then he announced that he wanted a personal assistant and said, this person must have a university degree. And I sent him an email and said, well, I haven't got a university degree, but I think I'd do a bloody good job. And he said, he quite liked the fact that I sent him that email and he got me in and we had an interview.

And eventually I ended up getting it.

And I had the University of Ian Dale.

It was quite something.

First class degree.

First, that's better than Oxford and Cambridge that.

And I spent three, three and a half years working for him, helping on the LBC show, booking guests,

and also working at bike back publishing.

And so went on from then to do think tank stuff at the Institute of Economic Affairs.

Those awful right wingers that you hate Jackie.

Yep.

And then after doing that, I did a bit of Times diary work, kind of going to parties, getting drunk, meeting celebrities.
