Hey all, a fun one today and very topical and current. So loads of people are writing to me asking me about Hanta Wanka PANCA or whatever. And I wrote it off as a complete joke like sub monkeypox. But people keep asking me. So I grabbed Dr. David Bell, who worked extensively with the WHO and Mr. Billy Gates.

Well, it's a virus.

It's been around for probably as long as humans, as long as rats or mice.

And there's a few

cases on the ship which is like now I think 11 cases nine confirmed out of

the 10 to 100,000 that the WHO considers are in the world each year.

It's just that, so the interesting thing is not the Handovirus.

The interesting thing is why we hear about these ones on a ship,

which is not unusual particularly at all.

And there's a little bit of probably human to human transmission in this one.

It's the Andy's variant which is known to do that. It's not easily spread, but there's cases

where, for instance, a nurse looking after, a couple of kids with antivirus in South America has become infected.

So it's almost certainly true that you get human to human transmission.

That's probably what happened on the ship because apparently they haven't found rodents.

And it came from South America.

So normally this would happen, it would be, you know, maybe in some local

reports, people would fly home. Some of them might be quarantined. You'd never hear about it.

And life will go on. This time it's become the big news. W. Ho is holding daily news conferences. We have public health experts
