Well, Jackson and I just wrapped up recording our watch along for the Patreon episode for by far

the worst episode. So apparently in this Halo universe, and again, I've never been exposed to

this storyline or the franchise before this TV show. But the Covenant and the UNS and CS,

whatever the fuck they're called, they've been feuding for decades, right? And at no point,

has apparently any scientist decided to actually sit down and translate the Covenant language.

And only in what's the year 2500 or something? One Spartan.

Yeah, they're like one of the Spartans says, oh, this is a needle gun. I heard one of the

Covenant aliens refer to it as a needle gun. And a scientist catches this and she's like, wait,

you can help us translate. We could translate this language. It could give us the upper hand.

It's like, we really know shit. Well, before you continue, Jackson, it's clear to me you guys

aren't paying enough attention. So in an offhanded comment from her to her father,

she meant this issue is like patting herself on the ass. She mentioned that she's made great

strides in understanding their language, but it's hit a wall. So by the Spartan calling it a

schlumbach or whatever she called the needleer, it was enough to trigger like a, oh, perhaps we could

use the Spartans as a cipher to figure out what these words mean. So she has been trying unsuccessfully.

But now that she has the code here, it seems like she's the only one working on this little side.

It's like a little side project at UNC headquarters or whatever. Like she's the only one working on

this. But surely this would be the first thing most like organizations would work on if invaded by

...
