Our guest today is Nat Segaloff, author of the new

biography, Alit Fuse, The Provocative Life of Harlan Ellison. Ellison is one of America's best and

most prolific short story writers, and is well known to science fiction fans for such classic

stories as a boy and his dog, I Have No M and I must scream, repent Harlequin said the TikTok

man, and Jeffty is five. He also edited the influential anthology's dangerous visions and again

dangerous visions, and has written many reviews, essays, and film and TV scripts, including

the teleplay for the classic Star Trek episode The City on the Edge of Forever, which is considered

by many fans to be the

best episode of the original series. But Ellison also has a long history of inappropriate

comments, inappropriate behavior, threats, lawsuits, and physical altercations, which have made

him a very controversial figure within science fiction fandom. Nat Segalov is a longtime friend of

Ellison's, and was given unprecedented access to

Ellison's papers and to Allison himself in order to produce a detailed warts in all biography,

which we'll be discussing in just a bit. I also want to mention that Nat sent me a three-minute
