Our guest today is Nat Segalov, author of the new biography, A Litfews, The Provocative

Life of Harlan Ellison.

Ellison is one of America's best and most prolific short story writers,

and is well known to science fiction fans for such classic stories as a boy in his dog,

I have no mouth and I must scream, repent Harlequin said the

tic-talk man and Jeff D is five. He also edited the influential anthologies

dangerous visions and again dangerous visions and has written many reviews essays and film and TV scripts

including the Teleplay for the classic Star Trek episode the City on the

Edge of Forever which is considered by many fans to be the best episode of the

original series but Ellison also has a long history of

inappropriate comments, inappropriate behavior, threats, lawsuits, and physical

altercations, which have made him a very controversial figure within science fiction fandom.

Nat Segalov is a long time friend of Ellison's and was given unprecedented access to Ellison's papers and to

Ellison himself in order to produce a detailed Warts and All biography, which we'll be discussing in just a bit.
