0:06.1	I'm your host Heather Ashley and today's case is out of Carthage, Texas.
0:10.8	Small talk sucks, so let's dive in. Marjorie Midiot grew up in Carthage, Texas, which is a small town about 20 miles from the Louisiana border.
0:37.0	After graduating from high school, Marjorie attended Louisiana Tech.
0:41.6	There she met R.L. or Rod Nugent who had just finished his
0:45.9	degree in electrical engineering. The couple got married not long after and
0:50.5	Rod landed a very, very well paying job with Magnolia Oil, which is now known as Mobile.
0:58.0	Over the next few decades, they moved around Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas raising their son.
1:04.8	After more than 50 years away, Rod and Marjorie moved back to Carthage.
1:12.4	Rod bought a controlling interest in the first bank of Carthage
1:16.3	and the couple built a 6,000 square foot home at the edge of town.
1:20.8	Around a year after they returned, Rob unfortunately passed away.
1:25.1	Marjorie, who was now 74 and widowed after 52 years of marriage, turned to Hawthorne

1:34.1	The 31-year-old mortician Bernie Teed handled everything.
1:39.4	Marjorie had actually met Bernie a few years earlier when he took care of her mother's funeral
