life after the pandemic. Now, you might be in a country where things are getting back to normal.

You might not. You may have experienced significant trauma throughout the pandemic, perhaps in the loss of a loved one or a health problem that's not. You may have experienced significant trauma throughout the pandemic, perhaps in the loss of a

loved one or a health problem that's ongoing. Whatever your experience was of the pandemic,

whatever your thoughts about it now, I want to validate all of them. Every thought, every belief

about what the past year and a half has been, what it should have

been, what it should be now is valid. And I want to start with that. Let me define what I think

this past year and a half was. I would like to define it as a traumatic event. Now, you might say, bah, Jen, that's silly.

We just need to bounce back and get on with life.

Life is all traumatic if you define it that way.

Well, let me tell you what I think a traumatic event is.

A traumatic event is losing a former version of yourself.

Death can be traumatic because we have lost a version of ourself in which another person we loved existed.

Divorce can be traumatic because we have lost a former version of ourselves that included another person in our life
