We cannot imagine nothing. I used to try when I was a kid to imagine nothing. There was always blackness or whiteness was there, but there was never nothing there.

This state we might call a state of nothingness. I think we can't imagine it in fact because it doesn't exist.

There's no such thing as nothing. But we do say that God created out of nothing and what do we mean when we say this?

Every act of creation that we can imagine is actually an act of transformation.

Someone takes something, turns it into something else,

makes something new out of it.

Divine creation is not that, so what is it and how should we think of it?
