ABOUT:

Jen Fulwiler is a mom with zero domestic skills. Her natural habitat is a martini bar in Manhattan, yet she finds herself raising a family in suburban Texas with her country-boy husband who thinks his inflatable hot tub is the summit of the human experience. Her stories of failing her way through life will resonate with anyone who doesn't have it all together.

Jen is a viral standup comic, bestselling author, and former SiriusXM radio host who has released three comedy specials: The Naughty Corner, Maternal Instinct, and Shabby Chic. She has been featured on Nate Bargatze's Nateland Presents, Where My Moms At with Christina P, Dr. Drew After Dark, the Today Show, CNN, and Fox News. She was featured in the viral articles, "5 Comedians Like Nate Bargatze Who Make Everyone Laugh," and "6 Comics To Check Out If You Love Leanne Morgan." She lives with her husband and six kids in Austin, Texas.

I don't know how to start this one, so let's just jump in. This is another randomly published

0:06.4

podcast episode. You'll notice Caitlin's not here, no intro music, because I'm spending most

0:13.0

of my time at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston right now, and I'm not home that often.

0:20.3

And so I just have to jump in and do these

0:23.0

quick updates because I do want to keep you guys posted. I love you guys. I really, really

0:29.1

0:51.1

If you are new, if you didn't hear my previous episode, a couple of weeks ago,

Lane had been having dizziness and headache symptoms. And they were mild for a while,

1:06.0

and then they got more serious. And we had her all set up to go to a migraine clinic. And it's in

1:13.2

Temple and it's really, really good. And evidently this doctor can work wonders with migraines.

1:19.7

So that was the plan. And just one quick thing, we just needed to get a CT scan out of the way,

1:25.2

you know, rule out anything. Obviously, it wouldn't be that. I literally said

1:29.3

to a friend of mine on the phone, words I wish I could take back because I feel like I jinxed us.

1:35.4

I said, obviously, we know 99.99% chance the CT scan will be nothing, but we just have to bang it out, you know, to rule out anything crazy.

1:48.0

Like, you know, as if a 19-year-old thriving sophomore in college, you know, would have anything show up on a brain CT scan.

1:55.8

Come on.

1:57.3

The doctor called us, the radiologist called us just like an hour and a half.

2:03.9

Afterwards, he actually, even though Lane's an adult, he found my husband's number and called him because he couldn't get in touch with Lane and said she needs to go to an ER right now.

2:18.2

They saw a mass and then the mass was blocking drainage.

2:26.4

So there was a lot of fluid buildup.
