lived in Boston for a couple years and then I moved back to Tennessee for a few years before I moved to New York.

I went to a small school, George Peabody College for teachers.

And it was about 2,500 students, really pretty campus.

So then I went from that to the restaurant world.

What was the move into restaurants?

I was in college and my roommate was working in a restaurant and

I would watch her every night come home and sit in the middle of the floor and

counter tips and I thought I got to get out of this work study program and work in a

restaurant so I started and study program and work in a restaurant.

So I started and my senior year in college I did it and then after college I waited tables

a little bit then I traveled and then I taught school in my second year I taught

school I waited tables again do more traveling to support that and I was actually

trying to get out of the restaurant business when I got the job at Union Square
