Coming up on today's show, can Gen Z win a war, the Islamists wreaking havoc in Britain's

schools and the re-education of Jordan Pearson.

So the UK government has been forced to deny that there are plans to reintroduce conscription.

There have been various figures from the MOD and from NATO have been warning

that the UK is closer than ever to a potential war with Russia and the

British Army doesn't have the numbers to cope with it. Now Tom this suggestion of

conscription has sparked a lot of interesting debate as to whether the younger

generation is up to it.

No it has and it's a sort of debate that often swells or has swirled in recent years

particularly in the wake of Russia's full-scale

invasion of Ukraine where people have been on the one hand incredibly inspired by the

mobilisation there by Ukrainians standing up for their nation and for their communities and so on.

But there being this kind of sneaking suspicion that in an increasingly kind of

self-loathing West the young people aren't necessarily going to be up to it.

I mean if you look at the polls in terms of the only

numbers we really have around things like kind of compulsory national service and what have you.

It's something like 80% of 18 to 25 year olds, oppose even kind of one month's compulsory military service but

Most age groups do actually oppose it incidentally I think the 65 pluses are about 50-50
