The cocktail of the week this week is the Bermuda 100. That's a good name, right? Why?

Bermuda 100. I don't know why it's called that. They don't tell me that.

Is that 100 proof? No, the Bermuda 100 is 1 and a half ounces of gin. 1 and a half

ounces of pineapple juice. Okay. Campari lime juice or jihad syrup. This 100 is

now puzzling me. I have no idea why it's called that. Is it metric? In metric, that's

that's 100. I'm googling Bermuda 100 to see if it. Oh, Bermuda 100 is a town in Virginia.

What now? No, what? No. What? Bermuda 100 was the first administrative... Oh, this is

probably what it's named for. Bermuda 100 was the first administrative division in the

English colony of Virginia. It was founded by Sir Thomas Dale in 1613, six years after

Jamestown. Wow. The terminology Bermuda 100 also included a large area adjacent to the

town. In Colony, Errol, Errol hundreds were large developments of many acres arising

from the English term to define an area which would support 100 homesteads. Oh, that's

so weird. There you go. That's cool. So it's like an acre, right? What is it? The amount

of land that can be heard plowed by one man and one oxen in one day. Yeah. But 100 would

be way, way bigger than that. 100 would be a bunch of homesteads, like a bunch of homesteads.

A bunch of them. Yeah. Why is it called Bermuda? No, that can't be.

100? I don't know. Was Bermuda like... It was British.

But was it British in 1613? Yeah, why not? Like... I mean, I don't know when the

Brits got there and... I don't know. Now they all wear Bermuda pants, Bermuda shorts.
