Be certain of this. Jesus did not avoid evil. He gave his life to totally and completely defeat evil.

He offered himself as a sacrifice to once and for

all gain a victory for all people and our assignment as Christ followers as the people of God is to declare this good

news to the entire world. He has commissioned us, empowered us with his spirit, and

promised never to leave us or forsake us. So hello 2022, we have an assignment.

But Kathy and I were talking this morning and I've had a habit for many years of

taking a page on a legal pad and just trying to describe what I anticipate the church

will look like a year from today. If you ask me to imagine what the world will be like

a year from today, I can't. The turmoil, the confusion, the rate of change, the

magnitude of change, the things going on around us, the instability is at such a point

that, you know, the end of the week's about as far out as I've got much confidence and that's a little

shaky.

And I don't know that that's a bad thing.

I'm kind of happy we've lost some sacred cows that I think are okay.

You know when the building was closed for so many months we were outdoors we we laughed as the staff team

We said we wanted to carpet the building with the hides from all the sacred cows we'd killed in the last few months
