| 0:00.0 | If I continue this style of sprinting up the mountain for the rest of my life, what's that going to do to my body? Is that going to lead to heart attacks? Is that going to lead to mental breakdowns? If you want to be healthier, if you want to enjoy life a little bit more, if you want to be more effective at work and actually be good at your craft, and if you want to have good relationships at your workplace, if you want to have good personally? Slowing down is the key to that. |
| 0:31.1 | Hey everyone. Welcome to the Real Estate and Financial Independence Podcast. As always, I'm Chad Carson, |
| 0:36.1 | your host. You can also call me a coach, |
| 0:38.1 | and this is a show all about helping you get out of the financial grind, so you can do more of what |
| 0:42.5 | matters. Whether you're a brand new listener or a long-time listener, thank you for being back |
| 0:46.3 | for another episode. The title of today's episode is The Lost Art of Slowing Down. Now, you may not |
| 0:53.2 | know this, but a lot of the topics I talk about on this podcast, |
| 0:56.3 | a lot of the interviews I have are always helpful for me, first and foremost. I'm the first |
| 1:01.0 | audience member, the first listener. Today's topic about slowing down your business, slowing down |
| 1:06.8 | your investing, slowing down your life is one that first and foremost, I always need to hear. |
| 1:12.3 | And my family and I, many of you know, have moved to Spain. And one of my favorite parts about |
| 1:17.5 | the Spanish culture, also a lot of the countries I visited in South America, is the appreciation |
| 1:22.1 | for going a little bit slower when necessary or when it's appropriate. And so in this podcast episode, |
| 1:28.8 | I want to talk about the hurry and the fast-paced life that almost all of us tend to be |
| 1:35.0 | pressured into. And sometimes, you know, it's appropriate. Sometimes there's a time for hustle |
| 1:39.2 | when you're new to something, when you're growing your first, you know, property or two. |

Maybe our health is suffering. Maybe even our business is suffering because we're hurrying, hurrying, going faster and faster and faster. We don't get to enjoy it where maybe our relationships are suffering because we're all |
| 2:04.9 | in on this other thing, but we're out of balance than another thing. And so that's the topic I want |
| 2:08.8 | to cover today talking about how to slow down more with our relationships, how to slow down more |
| 2:14.6 | in our business and actually be more effective as real estate investors or whatever other job or business you're in. |
| 2:20.0 | And also how to slow down in your personal life from a health standpoint, from an enjoyment standpoint, just to enjoy life a little bit more. |
| 2:28.8 | So we get started, I want to tell you a story from my own life that really brought home this idea of the importance of |
