I've never said he was a useless drummer.

Many people say Ringo actually held the group together,

not just, you know, by being diplomatic on the breakup between Lennon McCartney,

but in fact, his ability to drum pulled together, you know,

the bass and the lead guitar and all that kind of stuff.

I understand that the drummer and the bass player

are usually the people who lead the band, don't they?

Well, yeah, it's the kind of, it's the rhythm section, isn't it?

It's the heartbeat of it's the rhythm section isn't it's the it's the heartbeat of a

band yeah um without a rhythm section you have no band yeah so it is the drummer and the bass player

together who do hold it all together like allowing the others to take center stage and shine

there's a reason why they're always at the back.
