Hey guys, it's the way I heard it episode number 261. This one's called Jack Car is a Tomahawk

kind of guy. Because he is Chuck, I mean, there's no denying it.

Well, he's very fond of the Tomahawk. It's his logo actually.

It's a great logo. Yeah, it's beautiful. Two Tomahawks over each other.

Jack Car, if you've been living under a rock for the last couple of months, is a best selling

author. He has five best selling books all based on a character called James Reese, which he

created, maybe out of thin air or maybe out of his experience as a lieutenant commander in the

Navy seals, where he spent 20 years serving his country. I wanted to have this guy on because I've

a lot of writer related questions and I have a lot of seal related questions. And I am absolutely,

oh, I don't know, not really envious because the guy paid his dues as we'll learn in the conversation.

But I've never really talked to anybody, Chuck, who had such a clarity of purpose and who knew with

such precision exactly what he was going to do with his life. He knew it at a young age.

And he knew he was going to be in the seals and he knew he was going to be a writer.

So he put in 20 years with the seals. And then once he retired from the seals, he's like,

all right, well, I guess it's time to get started on the writing. And he did. And to great success in

five years, he's written five novels that have all been New York Times bestsellers.
