Hello and welcome back to the Self-Lippics podcast. My name is Beatrice and I'm your host and today I want to talk about standards. I want to talk about standards but most importantly upping your standards which if you've been with me for any amount of time, you might be like,

Beatrice, you used to talk about all the time, you don't need higher standards, you just

need to stick to your standards and that was

like a whole thing maybe two years ago and I want to expand on what I what I meant

when I was saying that at the time I was hearing a lot of women

a lot of women sort of add these random standards

that were not really personal to them.

I think it was just whatever they thought,

maybe they saw something, someone else experience,

and I'll give you some examples in a second,

and then just tacked it on with no ability to actually be accountable for

enforcing that standard meaning and okay what do I mean by enforcing a standard if If you have a standard, let's use an example to make this tangible, if your standard is that the man has to be a provider, if he shows up with that 50-50 stuff talking about on a first day or you know what I mean or talking about, hey, do you got dinner this time?

Hey, you're going to spot us this time? If he's doing any of that that means to enforce the standard

means it's a rap it's a rap because you're projecting into the future someone who

really holds actually has standards, it means when they're looking

out for and analyzing what are little signs that are pointing to, that could possibly point

to this person actually doesn't match this thing

what and they might be miniscule on a smaller scale right people don't get it a lot of

people with don't understand the whole 50-50 thing first of all not everybody is of the mindset that they want a provider. I would

highly recommend that, okay, for various reasons. But, you know, the thing of it is, is it's not just

about he's going Dutch with you on the first day.

It's not just about the date.
