Summary

In case you haven’t realized, we do not live in a world where everyone is wearing rose-colored glasses and basking in pure utopia. We live on a sinful, fallen earth and we know that the devil is the prince of this world. What God created for good, Satan wants to counterfeit and manipulate and use for evil. Don’t blame God for your “Why me?” moments. God may allow a storm to hit your life, just like Job, but He didn’t create it. None of us wants to endure pain and suffering but we are equipped to honor and glorify the Lord in the midst of it. We are enabled to clothe ourselves in the full armor of God. We have His Word, we have His Spirit, we have our salvation, and we have His promise that all that is wrong will one day be made right.

Hey everyone, welcome to another episode of Monday Meditations. I can't believe it's the last

0:07.1

full week of April. So to start the week off right, instead of focusing on a word, we're going to

0:12.5

dive into a phrase. It's a phrase that I've been hearing from friends, family, even acquaintances,

0:18.8

and this phrase can sometimes be a really, really heavy one.

0:22.7

So the phrase that we're going to be meditating on this week is, why me?

0:28.3

Recently I had a very dear friend of mine repeatedly asked me this simple, two-worded question

0:33.5

over the course of a few months.

0:35.5

Why me?

0:36.7

Everything felt like an attack to this person.

0:38.3

XYZ happened at the grocery store.

0:41.3

Why me?

0:42.3

Someone on the internet was being mean, was bullying me.

0:45.3

Why me?

0:46.3

The list continued and the constant why me moments

0:49.3

finally prompted me to respond with,

0:51.3

okay, I get that you think the world and God and everyone is

0:55.7

against you. But what now? And they were silent. They said, I don't know. Which is a very honest

1:02.8

answer. The one thing that's really important to remember during moments of asking,

1:08.5

why me is the one book that can help us shift our perspective from

1:13.1

why me to what now is the Bible, our God's living word. It's so essential that we as believers

1:21.4

not only read the Bible, but actually do what it says. What it says is that we should do all

1:27.4

things without grumbling,
