paycheck get out of debt and save more money. Now we're talking about

sticking to it in this new year, sticking to the budget, why do people quit, why do people stop?

The big reason is because they don't just chip away at it one day at a time. They let it slide and they keep telling

themselves they'll catch up. Oh I'll do that on Saturday. I'll do the whole week on

Saturday. I'll do the whole two weeks Sunday morning. That's what I did. I did a

whole month last Sunday. It was awful. Took forever. It should not have taken that long.

The best most efficient way to go about it is just to knock it out a little bit at a time.

Just log in, categorize a transaction or two, hop out.

Don't log in and retweek all your categories and overhaul the whole thing.

Unless, like we talked about last week, unless you're just gunning to start over,

just get in there, get your stuff done, get out.

The key in not quitting is to make it

into just small manageable tasks.

Kind of like those large expenses that we break up

into small amounts so we can handle them on a monthly basis,

getting ready for the next holidays, a vacation, property taxes that are due, maybe a life insurance

premium, dental work, I don't know, whatever it is.

We want to do the same thing with the budget.

We don't want to push it all off to, so it's just this monumental task

where we procrastinate it so far, we barely remember that we're even doing it at all and maybe we don't.
