Well, hey there, I'm Julie, and I'm so glad you've joined me for Java with Julie.

This podcast is an outreach of authentic intimacy, a ministry dedicated to reclaiming God's design for sexuality.

If you've listened long, you'll know that one of the things that I'm really passionate about

is making sure that we look critically at the things that I'm really passionate about is making sure

that we look critically at the traditions that the church holds is true. I like to take a

closer look and ask the question, does the Bible really say this? Or is this something the church

has gotten wrong? For example, on Java with Julie, we've tackled issues like the purity

message of the 90s,

cohabitation, mommy porn, and LGBTQ issues. I'm not the only one speaking into these conversations,

and that's a good thing. We need to be talking about these things. But I've noticed that many

of our conversations can lack a central theme to what it actually

means to be a Christian, reverence for God's holiness.

Now, reverence, that's an old-fashioned word, but I think you'll see just how important it is

as we try to discern and sift through all the voices we hear speaking into sexuality

today.

So join me in Hannah Nitz as we discuss what it means to be reverent, how a reverence for God

impacts how you view your own sexuality and informs the choices you make, and how it even

affects your relationships with others.
