Well guys welcome to the Huntback Country Podcast today. This episode is just Steve and I

recapping our recent Elkonts if you caught our latest episode which is the prior Monday Minute. We

talked kind of the planning stages and some of what was going into this recent rifle Elkont.

And now here we are after the fact. So actually just landed at 1am last night,

got back home and you know Steve we had talked about maybe doing some content in the field podcast

wise and as we'll get into just flat out legitimately didn't have time like action was too hot

and heavy and we were just flat out hunted and we're packing meat the whole time. Yeah, yeah,

it was an awesome problem to have. Yeah for sure. So yeah we yeah I obviously flew out to Boisey,

had a slight delay getting started as my rifle didn't show up on the airlines which is always

super reassuring. It was for some reason just didn't make didn't make my connecting flight.

My other bag did which I who knows right and there's no delays no like changes in flights.

Yeah it should have made it didn't make it so it showed up at the airports.

Lately late late the night that I flew in so early next morning went grab that and then man we went

straight to the hills kind of verified zero which is always a smart thing to do after traveling

with a rifle and things were looking good and you know day one of the hunt was really just a matter

of getting up into the country like I said just verifying zeros and then kind of putting ourselves

in a good position you know so we didn't have much time to hunt that day but just kind of

packed in and what were your thoughts Steve on where we went kind of what what was the decision

and to go to that night and where were to attack things. Yeah I mean we the one problem that I had

in the planning for this was we had our buddy Tyler Boschmark coming out to meet us but he wasn't

going to be there until mid day Thursday and so we went in on Wednesday and basically it was kind

of like well so Thursday's opening day so Wednesday night the plan was drive around and I didn't know
