I think there were times when I was writing this book.

Somebody could look at me and be like,

damn, she's writing a book and then she lives here and blah, blah, blah.

And with the inside, I'm like so frazzled all the time.

I was not familiar with the phrase of toxic productivity.

I never saw productivity as having a harmful slant to it at all.

I mean, I came up in the Girl Boss era, and so I think this idea of overworking until you're tired is a good thing.

That was something that I kind of came of age, and that was the culture.

And my foundation was you always have to be doing something.

You can't rest. Even if you're on vacation, you have to have some productive thing come out of it,

like just sleep when you're dead type of thing. I didn't even think it was a problem.
