What's up guys monocrossman? Monday? Monday? I mean, it's not Monday today, but we should be used today. It's Monday.

Today we got a guest on who I know personally, I work closely with him. Maybe you've seen him on our YouTube channel when we did the structural

engineer walk on our Needham build, but Ren Hayes is a partner and a co-owner of H&O structural engineers or engineering and we are going to talk.

I mean, we're actually going to start the conversation off with a segue from our last conversation about health, interestingly, because we always banter in the beginning.

But what I like about Ren's is that, you know, yes, he's a trained engineer. He's got a successful engineering firm, but he's very business savvy.

He spends a lot of his time researching and learning about business. I think he said for the last, I want to say for the last six.

He says, since 2014 or something, maybe, yeah, 2014.

2014, he's been listening to audiobooks or podcasts dedicated at least an hour a day to just improving himself in his business.

Yeah, that's a big investment of time. I don't know of anything that I've done for an hour a day since 2014.

But I enjoyed the conversation, obviously, a very knowledgeable person. It's interesting to see somebody who took a background and experience within the steel industry, even from his father's business and then found a passion for growing and scaling a business.

And obviously his business is still within structural engineering, but you can see that he has taken on a different, a different set of tasks daily responsibilities and finds a lot of gratification and growing his business.

So that was interesting to talk to him. He also has a podcast that he just started. So we'll put all that information in the show notes as well.

So definitely give that a give that a listen if you have a chance.

And one of my favorite stories he tells early on in the podcast is about his father and what is how his father started the steel business and a real good talk about value and bringing value and charging appropriate cost for the value in which you are bringing, you know, the end user.

So yeah, not necessarily charging an hourly rate, but more so what would that rate should be based on what value you're providing.
