In this episode of the Swallier Pride Podcast, we have Dr. Kate Andrea. She's been a clinician for 18 years throughout the United States, although she has experience treating an array of clients. She specializes in pediatric and adult neurologic physical therapy. She is especially passionate about working with individuals with brain injuries.

She has worked in acute care, inpatient rehab, outpatient, and skilled nursing.

In 2013, Dr. Andrea earned her board certification as a specialist in

neurologic physical therapy and in 2018, she earned her board certification as a specialist

in pediatric physical therapy.

Dr Andrea currently works at the University of St Augustine

for Health Sciences as an assistant professor.

She teaches courses in pediatrics, acute and post-acute care,

and neuromuscular interventions.

She recently graduated with her Doctor of Education degree

and earned the Excellence in Dissertation Research Award.

Dr. Andrea's research focus is on active learning strategies for health care students,

interprofessional collaboration in the classroom, and the use of simulation as a teaching and learning tool.

To demonstrate her commitment to continue learning.

She is currently pursuing her certification as a health care simulation

educator.
