| 0:00.0 | Yes, God. God don't never change. |
| 0:17.1 | So welcome to the plopcast. |
| 0:18.4 | This is episode 250. |
| 0:21.6 | 250 times. Can you believe it? |
| 0:23.8 | 250 of these. |
| 0:25.1 | My name is Douglas Wilson, here we are. |
| 0:27.9 | Thanks for joining me. |
| 0:29.4 | So I want to talk a little bit about energy. |
| 0:35.0 | There are one of the things we have to fight in every in and under and behind virtually every political issue is utopianism. Now I'm convinced that the true solar panel farms and the true windmill |
| 1:02.0 | farms are all set up in utopia and they run perfectly |
| 1:07.0 | there and we and then they pipe the energy in or the plan is to get them set up in utopia and once they're up and running in utopia |
| 1:17.4 | then we can just have an endless supply of energy. |
| 1:21.6 | Well, there are different, I would like to encourage you to think of energy in terms of square footage. |
| 1:32.0 | Okay, the more, and I would want to argue that the fewer square feet a means of producing energy takes up. The more efficient and therefore the more moral it is. |
| 1:48.4 | So by that token, the most efficient, effective, and moral source of energy would be a nuclear power plant. |
| 1:59.9 | After that would be fossil fuels. |
| 2:02.4 | And probably I'd want to argue that natural gas |
| 2:05.1 | would be the thing we'd want to use first, |
| 2:09.6 | and then after that coal, and then at the bottom of that list would be dirty coal and then |
| 2:18.6 | after that would be things like solar panel farms if you're in Arizona or windmill farms or a windmill to drive your pump if you're on the top of a windy hill. |
| 2:37.0 | So there is no way, there's absolutely no way for windmills to supply energy needs for most of the world. |
| 2:46.5 | It's not windy enough. There's no way for solar panels to supply the energy needs of people up in northern Finland. |
