I want to bring some extra energy and excitement to this show. So create your new normal.

You know, I'm recording this episode at the beginning of 2021 and February. And new normal has been a

phrase we've been using for the last year to talk about how our

life has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

And let's be honest, when new normal is used, it's not usually in a positive context.

There's a negative connotation.

Like, oh, this is the new normal.

You just have to accept that you have to wear a mask.

Stay six feet apart.

You can't visit grandma.

You can't go to your favorite restaurant.

And, you know, I use this phrase on purpose for this episode because I hear guys

sometimes in recovery, especially if they've been

in recovery for a while, talk about recovery with that same tone, you know, have to go to my recovery

group or I have recovery fatigue or, gosh, do I have to have these boundaries and tools for the

rest of my life?

There's this sense of resignation, a sense of resentment for this life that we're creating.
