Summary

This episode is an attempt to understand The USA in more detail, getting beyond the made-up version that we see in movies and on TV in order to get a proper understanding of the country, its culture and its people. I'm joined by an American friend of mine called Sebastian Marx, and during our conversation we go through most of the main events in the history of the USA and discuss some of the most important principles in the story of the country. 0:28.8	Why maybe we are being observed by alien life and what they have done is they've invented
0:35.1	incredibly advanced technology which allows them to tap into everything
0:40.2	that happens on earth and the main reason that the focus of that is just
0:43.5	so that they can download episodes of Luke's English podcast well because like
0:47.8	everyone else on planet Earth you know they they also want to improve their
0:51.0	English so yeah exactly's normal that people from
0:55.3	Andromeda. Yeah, Alpha Centurion or I or wherever it is they're tuning in from
1:00.4	one of the moons of Jupiter or whatever yes they they too need to improve their
1:04.4	English yeah so that when they eventually do come down they'll be able to say look
1:08.6	it's okay put the guns away we mean you know harm take us to your leader.
1:13.4	Maybe we should just give a little crash course for the aliens how they should, you know,
1:19.2	what they should be saying at the beginning.
1:21.3	When they do, you know, try to make contact. What do you know try to make contact what do you think if
1:25.3	we were to give some advice to aliens on how they should open a little
1:29.1	communicative discourse with the people of Earth I think they should try to take a selfie with human kind of how they should buddy up with us.
