Hey, you guys, welcome to the podcast. If there was any topic that I could be almost 100% sure that

it would apply to every single gardener listening today, it would be this one. And that is how to begin

preparing for pests. Because pests are an inevitability. I'm not sure that we could go to anyone's garden and talk

to any gardener and not find someone who doesn't deal with pests in some way. And this can be a really

hard thing, especially for a new gardener who wants to garden organically and we have the best of

intentions going into it. But then when the pests

actually begin arriving, we have a tendency to panic, especially if we're new. And even if we're not

new, goodness, it seems like every year I'm dealing with a different pest infestation or one that

wasn't the same as it was last year. And so I'm having to go back to, okay, what do I need to do now?

So essentially we're all dealing with this.

But I'm hoping to catch you at a good time

because I remember looking back at some garden photos from last year.

And it was the ones in May where I started really taking pictures

of a lot of the pests that came and the

beneficial insects that came. So in my garden this time of year is when a lot of this stuff

begins to start showing up. Of course, we don't have like the onslaught until much later in the

summer. That's why I wanted to talk to you about the subject today. Before you get

inundated with pests, let's kind of back up and see what we can do to get prepared for the season,

especially if we want to garden organically and naturally. What can we do in preparation for those pests coming after our plants? I hope that you find this
