Organic REV
The first thing to understand about REV is that it is not an ordinary humic acid product that is chemically-extracted from leonardite, lignite, or other coals. Rather, it is a 100% naturally-occurring carbon, humic acid & fulvic acid source - along with exceptionally high levels of naturally-occurring microbial biomass that can increase nitrogen efficiency by up to 25%.
REV replaces depleted soil carbon & bacterial biomass - and absorbs nutrients to make them more readily available to plants via their root systems.

Welcome back to the Beginners Garden Podcast. I have another special guest for you today.

0:06.4

You guys, I'm so excited about sharing this conversation with you. You know from the very beginning

0:11.3

of my gardening journey, I have put a priority on testing my soil when necessary, whether that was

0:18.5

for my ground bed, the very very first year or even last year

0:22.7

noticing that there was a row that didn't quite perform like I thought it should or maybe

0:28.0

a couple of different raised beds. One had fabulous tomatoes and one did not. I'm a big proponent

0:34.3

of testing your soil to see what is actually going on.

0:38.9

But the problem is, the more that I have tested my soil and have looked at the soil test results

0:45.1

and the more that you all have given me feedback on your own soil test, there was just a little

0:51.4

bit of a gap because I am not a scientist and I never took chemistry,

0:57.2

not even in high school. So I cannot begin to help you understand what your soil test means

1:03.6

because there's a lot of science there that if you're not familiar with it, it's a whole other

1:08.0

language. Well, today on the podcast, we're bringing on Joey Aikins. He is a

1:14.3

soil scientist. He's got a master's degree in crop and soil science from Auburn University.

1:20.6

And he currently works for Penn State as a field and forage crops agronomist. He has been able to break down this very complex

1:31.3

topic into a conversation that no matter your background, you'll be able to understand. Now,

1:37.2

it does go into some detail in some of these questions that if you're kind of a sciencey person,

1:42.5

you'll be able to track right with him.

1:44.6

But more importantly, there are some really good suggestions that he gives and some

1:51.0

explanations that he gives that blew my mind.

1:56.0

I'd never had anyone explain things so easily to me where I can understand it.

2:02.5

Someone not having an earth science background.
