Hey everyone. Welcome to MCU fan show episode 241. My name is Sean Gerber. In a moment I'll be joined by Paul Herman

to discuss the Miss Marvel trailer, Deer Devil and the Defenders coming to Disney Plus and the MCU fan awards.

But first, let's talk about the Disney news that cannot and should not be ignored.

We are, like many of you, fans of Disney and the many things Disney owns, including Marvel Studios and the

MCU.

We are also, like many of you, deeply disappointed in Disney's far too delayed an ultimately

inadequate response to the proposed

don't say gay bill in Florida which has already passed in the state Senate and may

soon be signed into law. It is not right for the government or any decent human being to prohibit educators or

anyone else from so much as acknowledging the existence of the LGBTQIA-plus

community or any other group. Such legislation is dangerous and immoral.

As a company with thousands of LGBTQIA Plus employees in the state of Florida

and many more around the world, as a company that hosts pride celebrations in its parks and

sells pride-themed merchandise, as one of the largest businesses and employers in the state of Florida,

it was incumbent upon Disney to stand up for what was right

loudly and without hesitation. The company already uses its money and status to

influence elections and legislation in the State of Florida so a policy of political abstinence does not exist and cannot be used as a defense here.

The company should have wielded its influence early on but failed.

Now, the company and its CEO, Chapek are promising to take meaningful

action to champion the protections, visibility, and opportunity that the LGBTQIA

plus community deserves.

We hope to see them follow through as we stand in unwavering support of the LGBT-QIA plus community.
