Summary

Matt Diamante's first video was him sitting on a toilet. Three years later, he has a 19-person SEO agency - all from content that makes the "driest topic in marketing" go viral.

Matt runs an SEO agency that went from 3 to 19 employees in 3 years - all thanks to social media content.

In this conversation, Matt reveals:
• Why his first video was him sitting on a toilet (and what happened after)
• The "visual hook" strategy that stops the scroll
• Why he "tricks" people into learning about SEO
• The truth about AI content: "Google doesn't care who wrote it"
• How he got 300 people to pay him before he built anything
• The founding member launch that changed everything

Go watch the first video that I posted on social media. It's literally me sitting on the toilet, fully clothed.

0:05.6

Three years ago, we were three. 19 people now, which is insane. This is all thanks to

0:11.2

they're not stopping to watch. They're not even going to get to the point of seeing it or hearing it.

0:15.5

Yeah. I have to trick people into learning about SEO. Google does not care who wrote the content. What do you mean by

0:21.7

that? AI, human, they don't care. I've posted every single day. I just changed my life.

0:28.4

That was Matt Diamante. Three years ago, just three employees. Today, 19, all from content

0:35.4

that makes SEO go viral.

0:37.5

Today we're talking about visual hooks that stop the scroll, the toilet video that started everything, and why Google does or doesn't care if AI writes your content.

And wait until you hear about how he got 300 people to pay him for something that didn't even exist yet.

So you and I met through a Instagram creators group for Canadians. Yeah. Did you remember getting

1:08.6

a notice about that? It looked like spam. Totally. I thought this is like, I'm going to get my Instagram account hacked and this is what's driving my business, but I clicked on it anyways. It's like in the Instagram app. Yeah. You remember that and it was like signed up for this thing. But it didn't look legit. No, not at all. I thought it was a scam too. I think this is something we can touch on later in the conversation where not everything needs to be perfect and even meta themselves is doing weird stuff that kind of looks spammy.

1:33.7

Well, and to give everybody context, they were wanting to get a bunch of Canadian creators together to share best practices and what's working and help each other.

1:43.5

It was kind of like a mini mastermind for Instagram.

1:45.6

It was really great. And I met some really, like I met you and I met a couple other creators in there,

1:50.8

who I've drawn a lot of inspiration from and, you know, met up with in person and like all this stuff.

1:56.1

And the calls that we had with Emily were so good. They were really good. We were getting like behind

2:02.8

the scenes like scoops on what's coming down the pipeline, like best practices. It was it was awesome.

2:08.7

Well, since then, the group has now been dissolved, but I still message Emily all the time and

2:14.0

I'm like, hey, my trial reels have gone. I used to have them. they're not there anymore, what's going on? And like, she will help me through some stuff and or I'll be like, none of my stuff's working right now. Like, what do you recommend? Yeah. And she is still able to like help me and give me advice or be like, use this kind of hook or like, people are doing a lot of stitches now.

2:34.2

Maybe try that.

2:35.2

Yeah.
