Hello, cinephiles fans. This is the Outlaw, John Roca. You know, every once in a while

on this show, we get to slide into the genre that I love the most in film in that is

Westerns. And this week, we're here with part one of one of my favorite Westerns over

the past 20 years, the assassination of Jesse James by the coward, Robert Ford. This 2007

film directed and written by Andrew Dominic, stars Brad Pitt as Jesse James. Casey Affleck

as Robert Ford, Sam Sheppard as Frank James, Mary Louise Parker, Sam Rockwell, Jeremy

Runner, Garrett Dillahunt, Paul Schneider for all you season one, Parks and Rec fans, and

a host of other incredible character actors that absolutely populate and enrich this

elegant, lyrical Western. It's a film that if it touches you and gets to you, you won't

forget it anytime soon. And I think this is one that we'll be talking about for years

to come as a modern classic in the Western film genre. That is the assassination of Jesse

James by the coward, Robert Ford. And the film is all about the exploration and the journey

of this very, very unique and strange relationship between Casey Affleck's Robert Ford and Brad

Pitt's Jesse James that leads to his death, murder or assassination, as it says in the title.
