Today an interviewer got fired after admitting to taking advanced questions from the

Biden team. How common is the practice of Politico's directing terms of

their interviews. There seemed to be quite a bit of interest and even surprise when it was reported that President

Biden and or his handlers were providing questions for some journalist to ask,

and it raised further questions

as to whether conditions had been laid out

in order for people to get interviews with President Biden.

I thought you might be interested in hearing some

anecdotes that I have regarding these sorts of things. I can't tell you what the

policy exactly what the Biden administration has been. I can only tell you about my experience as I've tried for

years to get an interview with first candidate Biden and then President Biden.

He's not granted me an interview but I do know early on when we put in the request, my producer was told by one of the handlers that was taking the press requests that they were considering it and that person working for

Biden said something like well we know if we give you an interview you won't want to

go over any old news. It wasn't really a question per se or a demand but it started to sound a little bit

like they were feeling us out to see what we might be willing to agree to if they would consider

an interview and my producer said what do you consider old news?

And the answer was Hunter.

Apparently, Joe Biden didn't want to talk about or answer questions

or they didn't want him talking about or answer questions or they didn't want him talking about

or answering questions about his son Hunter Biden and all those controversies that
