Summer is finally coming to a close.

As most of you know, this is not my season.

I am more than ready for the leaves to start changing colors and for pullover hoodies to be a number one staple in my day-to-day wardrobe.

I'm also looking forward to things quieting down during the day.

Kids will be back in school for those glorious seven to eight hours, and I can't wait.

Not so much for the traffic on the way home, but I can live with that if it means my favorite

time of the year is coming up. Come to think of it, it's been a very long time since I had a first

day of school experience. Despite the stress that going to class would inevitably give me in the form of exams and oral presentations,

I always loved the first few weeks of school.

It's difficult for me to explain, but there is just this exciting feeling I would get walking around my college campus those many years ago.

It was a unique feeling of excitement that I have trouble comparing to any

other feeling. But to even attempt to, I would say it was right below that feeling of butterflies

fluttering around in my stomach and just above your standard day-to-day happiness.

Maybe some of you have felt that too. Perhaps it involves something else other than school,

but that's just what I have to use

as an example. Personally, I went to a fairly popular college in Pennsylvania, but I was at one of

the smaller campuses that made it possible for me to commute back home every day, not the main campus

where I would have to live in a dorm. All I can say is that if you didn't know that this campus of my college was located in a certain area, you would miss it.

It was surrounded by trees and far back from the main roads.

It was a really great atmosphere that I looked back at and miss fondly.
