Summary

I hear a lot of people say their OCD is kicking in and have seen memes on the internet for OCD people ranging from perfectly placed dominoes to OCD tests. Most of what we see or hear about OCDĀ misrepresentsĀ the condition and does a disserviceĀ to the people who struggle with it. Sarah shares her experience with OCD and how therapy has impacted her.

Hey everybody, welcome back. I know it's been a little while and I'm a little disappointed. I wasn't able to put out an episode sooner because I was so late on this release. I do have another release that's almost ready to go. I'm going to put that out in a couple days, hopefully before the

0:22.2

weekend, but I've made that promise before. I do have multiple interviews that have already been

0:28.3

completed. A quick announcement, I have new peripheral hoodies and baseball teas out on the

0:36.6

Gen Y shop. And to get to that, you can just go out to gen Ypod.com.

I can't thank you enough, Brian.

On today's episode, I actually had interviewed Sarah months ago, and I had another topic to

Sarah wrote to me and said, can we do this again?

1:21.0

Can I have another shot at it? And I said, sure, but why? What you're going to soon find out is Sarah suffers from OCD, a pretty extreme case. And she had never sought treatment or any sort of help for the condition.

And after speaking with me the first time, she's now talking to a therapist who is having her do

1:40.6

cognitive behavior therapy.

1:43.6

And it's a goal-oriented approach where you work to understand

1:47.7

certain thinking influences and behaviors and change those patterns. She is much better than she was

1:55.1

before. She has made huge strides forward, and it was an absolute pleasure talking to her.

2:02.5

So here we go.

2:04.6

Hello.

2:05.2

Hey, Sarah. How you doing?

2:06.9

Hey, Justin. How's it going?

2:08.3

I'm doing good.
