This week we celebrate what happened over the last two weeks with the global climate strikes

coordinated by young people around the world and we anticipate the Extinction Rebellion international rebellion starting next week

Plus we speak to Gail Bradborough, founder of Extinction Rebellion.

So, So we seem to be in something of a renaissance of moments of civil disobedience actions on climate change the last few weeks have been

really inspiring there have been really inspiring. There have been

seven million people on the streets the last two consecutive Fridays protesting in

most countries around the world, led of course by the strikes in New York and then Montreal

where Greta has been and is now traveling across the US.

But next week it kind of steps into a different gear. Extinction Rebellion who last year shut down Central London for a couple of weeks

are back with an international rebellion that starts on Monday. This time it does seem to have gone global with 60 countries around the world,

over a thousand different events, and the flagship event again in London in the intention

to shut down 12 different sites for at least two weeks.

So today we're going to speak to Gail Brabrook,

she is the co-founder of Extinction Rebellion.

And it's just kind of interesting, I think,

at this moment to reflect on how this kind of

kind of sense of civil disobedience, this sense of a kind of

uprising of people saying enough we're going to take to the streets we're
