0:18.8	of controversy in the Evangelical world for a while, the issue of evolution and the age
0:24.5	of the earth. How old is the earth? Does it matter theologically what we believe about
0:28.8	these things? We're going to talk about it on today's podcast.
0:51.6	Well, recently there was a Christian post article that came down my Facebook news feed and it caught
0:58.2	my attention because it was talking about one of my favorite things to talk about and that is
1:05.4	the age of the earth, evolution and everything that's tied up with those kind of topics. I've
1:13.8	actually been wanting to do a podcast on this topic ever since I started my podcast. I just
1:19.3	haven't gotten around to do it but with Jurassic World in the theaters and in this recent
1:24.4	controversy that I'm going to talk about in a second, it just seemed like a good time to do it.
1:29.2	So basically the controversy and debate that's happening right now is surrounding a recent
1:38.4	Hillsong worship song. And so the article that came down my news feed said Hillsong's Joel Houston
1:49.2	clarifies evolution views after sparking debate with worship songs so will I. And so from what I
1:56.8	can tell, there's been quite a bit of debate ever since Hillsong released this song called So Will I
2:03.6	100 Billion X. I haven't heard the song but the lyric that is the controversial lyric says
2:12.4	and as you speak, 100 billion creatures catch your breath evolving in pursuit of what you said.
2:21.2	And so there has just I guess been a ton of debate about this on Twitter and so
2:27.3	Houston responded and he said, evolution is undeniable created by God as reflective means of
2:35.7	displaying nature's pattern of renewal and pursuance of God's word and owed to the nature of
2:42.1	the creative God it reflects and only ever in part not the source. Science and faith aren't at odds.
2:49.8	God created the big bang. So that I guess there were quite a few exchanges on Twitter and then he
2:57.2	wrote context things evolved they adapt and change I don't believe in evolution as a theory of
