Chelsea is a mother, teacher, victim of gun violence, and advocate from Calabasas, California.

In fact, she and I lived in the same neighborhood for the majority of our elementary and middle

school years. Although our paths diverged in and especially after high school, social media helped us stay in general touch.

However, it wasn't until she posted about her escape from a mass shooting on the anniversary of her survival

that I began to learn more about her recent journey.

The shooting at the Route 91 Music Festival has been featured on many major media platforms

and through many mediums, but Chelsea has never shared her journey publicly.

Thus, I am eternally grateful she was willing to share her experiences with us, and all that's

come next for her within her healing.

Trenton. We just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary, which is amazing. I am a special ed teacher, and I specialize in working with students with significant mental and emotional disabilities
