He's the author of novels such as Gizmatrix,

Love is Strange and Island in the Net, and he's also the editor of the Seminole Cyberpunk

Anthology Mirror Shades. Together with William Gibson he wrote the classic steampunk novel The Difference Engine,

and his non-fiction books include Hacker Crackdown, Tomorrow Now, and the Epic Struggle of the Internet

of Things.

His articles appear in Newsweek, Nature, and the New York Times, and he's been featured on TV shows such as ABC's Nightline, BBC's The Late Show, and CBC's Morningside.
