WERE Hey guys, this is Joy. And this is Claire. Live from Reno.

0:36.0

Live from Reno. Yeah. Sorry, my auto quality of quality is a little different today. I am in Reno. We are recording this like two and a half weeks in advance. It's going to come out while we're in Ireland, which is crazy. That's only two and a half weeks away. I'm here for a trade show and it's like not even a real trade show. Like I think when people think of trade shows, they think of like these cool booths and everybody's kind of walking around and there's samples and you're like learning about stuff

and getting swag. This is a sales show where basically specialty retailers as opposed to like a big

1:03.7

box retailer like a Dick Sporting Grids and REI. Think about like your local outdoor store in your area

1:08.9

that's like maybe got one to five locations max probably and is

1:14.3

a little bit more homegrown the owners or buyers from those stores come to this show to have the

1:21.9

salespeople from the different brands that they carry explain all the products to them and the new

1:27.0

products and the products

1:27.8

coming up for the following season. Then they go back home to their store and place their

1:31.4

orders for the upcoming season. For much larger retailers, like an RIA, for example, we take

1:37.3

everything to RIA and present it to their buyers. But if you only have one buyer, it would be

1:42.9

exhausting to try to bring everybody. Like, your situation is not big

1:47.2

enough to be bringing in all your different brands. And so instead, they have these shows where they can

1:52.3

set up appointments. But so it's like really not, there's very little marketing involved. I'm,

1:55.9

I keep calling myself the emotional support marketer. I'm pretty much just here to make sales feel

1:59.8

good for moral support. Pretty much. For moral support. How is your trip out there? We'd like to talk about airports and people and like wearing masks and you're like whenever I travel, I still, I still wear masks. Yeah. I feel like I think everyone, I feel like everyone was just like that is a thing of the past. But I just can't get over how little I got sick when I was wearing a mask. And so, like, knock on wood. I still wear a mask every time I travel. I will take it off now, like when I'm in my seat for the most part. You know, I think with all like the air filtration happening, granted, if someone around me is coughing, I'm going to put that thing back on. Oh, yeah, for sure. I get offended when people around me cough now. I'm like, good. We are at sharing air.

What do, did COVID teach us nothing? People in line. I, I think, where was I? I can't even remember. I think it was Vegas, which we all know that that was like a total S show for me emotionally. But I feel like we were in some line and some guy was just like coughing ridiculously. And I was just like, oh, no, it was in a Nuggets game. And we were going through like the clear line. And so it was kind of like in this little hallway. This guy was just coughing and I just kept looking at Scott. And I was like,

3:07.8

does he not realize that we had COVID? Like, does he not realize that we went through a pandemic? Like, you're not supposed to caught. It's just, it's so hard. I know. I still feel so conscious. If I get like a little tickle in my throat and I have to cough, I want to be like, guys, it's a tickle. I swear, like, you want to just flack the wrong tube.

3:07.3

My ear, doctor friend says, because she always wears a mask when she travels, but she won't wear it. She says it's, well, let's put it this way. She's like, it's not as important to wear it when you're on the plane because of all the filtration, but she's like, definitely wear it when you're in the terminals. And she's like, that's where it's the gross error and like people just being disgusting. Also, they just redid the Denver security. Oh, my God. It's horrible. It's so bad. Before it was busy, but at least you knew what you're getting yourself into because it was like you could see you down. You're coming on the escalator. You're looking at the line. And just to give everyone an idea of how big Denver is. The Denver International International Airport is giant airport. It's huge. It's a huge hub. And it's one of the busiest airports actually in the world. It's definitely one of the biggest airports in the country. It's one of the busiest airports in the world. And so they have spent the last, what, probably like two years renovating. They like debuted all this new security. And it is a nightmare. I don't know who designed this. But basically what it requires you to do is you get in line. And it's

4:32.4

very confusing, like, which line you're supposed to be in. You get in line. It's so confusing.
