Summary

What if pleasure isn't a problem, but part of God's design?

In this foundational episode of Female by Design, I'm taking us back to the beginning—back to the garden. We'll explore God's original blueprint for our bodies, our senses, and our experience of intimacy, all rooted in the creation story.

I'll also share more of my personal journey of healing and how the word "pleasure" went from feeling shameful… to sacred.

What you'll hear:

  • Why I renamed the podcast and what's shifting

  • How God began renewing my mind about pleasure

  • What Genesis 2 really reveals about our design

  • Why understanding the garden is key to healing our sexuality

This is a vulnerable, Scripture-soaked, hope-filled episode—and a powerful reset for where we're headed together. I'm so glad you're here.

We are going to be jumping in with an honest conversation, kind of going back to the roots of

this conversation about pleasure.

If you didn't hear last week, I've renamed the Heaven and Your Home podcast, relaunched it

with a similar but more specific focus on the word,

0:58.2

the idea, and the value for embodiment specifically around pleasure. Heaven in your home was

1:04.5

great for a season, but it was almost like I was hiding behind a general Christian term that was easy to hear and maybe easy

to digest on some level. But this is the season to get more honest and to let you into more

1:21.0

of my healing journey. So today we're going to talk about pleasure. And I hope and wonder if it

1:26.4

might be surprising and a gift to you in your perspective

of the word pleasure, the idea of pleasure, and your value for pleasure. So before we go any

further, I'd love to just begin with a moment of getting in touch with the fact that we are

embodied. This is a practice that I do often and I invite you to join me if you want of just

taking a really beautiful deep breath and a nice slow exhale. Do one more to honor this gift of

breath that we have.

2:09.1

I find myself needing to do that on purpose because of how much I can live in my head and how fast I can go at a pace that just keeps me running pretty hot with exhaustion

2:15.4

and frenetic energy.
